Big value low budget trek to this famous Ghorepani Poon Hill adventure trek. This trek is suitable for all age groups, including children, and won’t leave you gasping for breath. However, you will need an average level of fitness to make your way up to Poon Hill (3.210m).
The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek doesn’t leave out much as it still takes you into the Annapurna region and through exquisite Gurung and Magar villages with their distinct Tibetan Buddhist architecture and traditions. The highlight is the trek up to Poon Hill in the pre-dawn hours so as to capture the pristine crisp and clear light as it reflects on these colossal mountains. From Poon Hill you have panoramic views over the extensive Annapurna Range and of individual peaks, such as Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Machapuchare (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, Varaha Shikhar, and Lamjung Himal. The trail leads through lush forest and among beautiful rhododendron forests with Annapurna always present and looming above you. You will get to walk the famous stone stairs at Ulleri Village – up and down!
