Welcome to Colonia del Sacramento! Upon arrival, our local guide will be waiting to take you on a journey through Colonia del Sacramento, a city declared World Heritage by UNESCO. Founded by the Portuguese and later disputed between the Spanish and Portuguese crowns, Colonia still preserves the charm of its fascinating past.
We’ll stroll along its cobbled streets, discovering landmarks such as the City Gate (Portón de Campo), the Street of Sighs (Calle de los Suspiros), charming squares, and the Iglesia Matriz, the oldest church in Uruguay.
To add a local touch, we’ll experience a traditional Uruguayan mate tasting, learning the secrets of this national drink that is much more than a beverage – it’s a symbol of friendship and culture.
After the tour, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch before transferring to our hotel in Carmelo, surrounded by vineyards and peaceful river landscapes.
