Experience the grandeur of the Annapurna Base Camp with a luxury helicopter tour, offering a unique perspective of this stunning region. Located just 40 km north of Pokhara, Annapurna Base Camp sits in a high glacial basin, surrounded by the towering peaks of the Annapurna Himal range, with heights exceeding 7,000 meters. This tour provides an exceptional way to explore the base camp's oval-shaped plateau, positioned at an altitude of over 4,130 meters (13,550 feet). From the air, you’ll see river networks, glaciers, icefalls, moraines, lush woodlands, and tiny villages from a breathtaking viewpoint.
Tour Overview
Departure from Pokhara:
Start your luxurious journey from Pokhara, known as the city of lakes. Board the helicopter at the domestic airport and take off, enjoying aerial views of the concrete jungle of Pokhara, interspersed with green patches and lakes. As you leave the city, marvel at the lush woodlands and scattered villages of central Nepal.
Flight to Annapurna Base Camp:
Fly directly over the Modi River valley, where you’ll see various trails of the Annapurna Circuit. The flight will take you past the Mardi trek ridge trail on your right and the woodland-covered trails of Annapurna Base Camp on your left, with stunning views of snow-capped peaks ahead. Continue through the valley between Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre towards the base camp. Witness the Annapurna Sanctuary in all its glory, with panoramic views of Annapurna I, II, III, IV, and South, Gangapurna, Gandharvachuli, Dhaulagiri, Himchuli, Machhapuchhre, and other peaks, as well as glaciers and icefalls. The helicopter will land on a ridge at Annapurna Base Camp.
At Annapurna Base Camp:
Upon landing, take time to explore and soak in the vibrant energy of the mountains. After a brief exploration, the helicopter will return to Pokhara, offering views of old-growth forests, waterfalls, river networks, sparkling terraced farms, and dotted settlements. As you approach Pokhara, the lush landscape transitions back to the city’s concrete environment.
Tour Details:
- Flight Duration: Approximately 2 hours (Pokhara Airport to Annapurna Base Camp and back)
- Stop at Annapurna Base Camp: 25 minutes to acclimatize and prevent altitude sickness
- Departure Time: 7 am
- Pickup Location: Lake Side / Any hotel in Lake Side Pokhara / Pokhara Airport
Permits and Entry Fees:
- ACAP Entry Permit for Foreigners: 3,000 NPR (Approx. US $30)
- ACAP Entry Permit for SAARC Nationals: 200 NPR
TIMS Permit:
- 1,000 NPR per person for organized treks through an agency
- 2,000 NPR per person for independent trekkers (without a guide or porter)

The optimal seasons for the Annapurna Region are autumn and spring:
- Autumn (September, October, November): Clear weather, great visibility, warm temperatures, and excellent conditions for stargazing.
- Spring (March, April, May): Mild temperatures, blooming wildflowers, and grazing herds of sheep and yaks.
Avoid Monsoon Season: Frequent rainstorms and landslides make travel difficult.
Winter: Heavy snowfall covers trails, making travel challenging.
