Starting in Fes , where Africa meets Europe, you will explore historic landmarks and move south toward Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. From there, the route takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, cedar forests, and charming Berber towns before descending into the golden dunes of Merzouga for an authentic desert experience.
Along the way, you will discover breathtaking valleys, palm-filled oases, and ancient kasbahs, including the legendary Ait Ben Haddou. The journey concludes in Marrakech, the vibrant “Red City,” where history, culture, and tradition come together in a colorful atmosphere. Your adventure begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech. We head out through the majestic High Atlas Mountains, passing traditional Berber villages and stopping for breaks to admire the stunning scenery. Along the way, we’ll cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest road pass in Morocco at 2,660 meters.
One of the highlights of the day is the visit to the UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a magnificent 16th-century fortress that served as a backdrop for iconic films like Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Prince of Persia. We continue on to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” and then to Kalaat M’Gouna, the town of roses. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay in a charming hotel nestled in the Dades Gorges.
